The strenght of DeviantArt
There is one particlar aspect of DeviantArt and those who use this site that really stands out among any other.
I do get quite a lot of questions about photography on all the websites I post my images, there are largely simular questions but the differences are undeniable.
On DeviantArt most are actually interested in the artistic side of photography, mainly composition but also a large part how I was thinking about the situation before taking the image.
I actually looked through most of the messages I have gotten here in comparison to what I got on any other site, questions about the artistic side of photography was at about a 6 to 1 ratio on dA compared to everything else.
This is a huge advantage of DeviantArt, a foundation of the artistic that is highly inspirational.
One of the downsides is that a small percentage actually look down on any oth
Lets turn the tide
I recently posted a journal posing the question if DeviantArt is dead for photographers(which you can read about here) which was by far my most commented journal post and I got a lot of reactions and input on it.
While I like to spend my time on photography I can make at least a few steps in order to make a change and if more people follow, this on dA can and will change.
I scrolled down the pages on Popular 8 hours and quickly found deviations that should have held a much higher spot and I am not just talking about photography, cause I draw inspiration from all sources.
Simply a beautiful painting, it makes me wonder about the story of this girl, what is she dreaming about ?
Gorgeous scenery with two paddlers, a well executed phot which poses some serious challenges to deal with in terms of dynamic range which is handled very well.
